A couple of posts back I noted that during the address in which Bush was said to acknowledge "a fraction of the problems that really exist" in Iraq, he mostly just passed the buck by blaming the country's insecurity on the US's Iraqi proxy army, and was a little surprised that other commentators didn't make a bigger deal about the cravenness of this attempted spin.
Apparently someone else did comment on it, Iraq's only four-star general ... from the AP:

"There have been some cases where, when the heat got on, they left the battlefield - that is unacceptable," Bush said at a Dec. 20 press conference.
Asked about Bush's comments, [Gen. Babaker B. Shawkat] Zebari told AP: "I think the president received misleading information."
