So there was a fragging in Iraq. Staff Sergeant Alberto Martinez allegedly killed two higher ranking officers, Captain Phillip Esposito and Lieutenant Louis Allen, with a command detonated claymore mine at an old Saddam pleasure dome known as the Water Palace. Here's the AP's account if you're interested, but the coverage has been pretty shallow -- no one seems to know much about Martinez's motive. However, as Worker's World notes, an actual fragging incident perpetrated in part because of the stress of a war zone "would mark a qualitative change in the morale of G.I.s in Iraq and the level of resistance within the U.S. military itself."
Oh yeah, hat tip to our stalwart colleague Simbaud, the Zemblan king.
